This website is part of the The Chemical Detective which aims to encourage
the study of molecular and physical science in regional high school students
from Western Victoria.
The programme was made up of;

A teachers professional development workshop held during April 2000
and 2001 at the
Geelong Campus of Deakin University. |

A Forensic Science Website. |
|
A laboratory workshop based on forensic science for the high school
students held during June 2000 and 2001. |

A CD-ROM of forensic science teaching resources. |
The aims of this programme are to;

Present science in an enthusiastic and interesting format with reference
to the ''real world", so as to encourage Victorian students to continue
their science education into VCE and beyond. |

Allow school students access to modern science laboratory facilities and
scientific demonstrations nor available within the normal school system. |
|
Give school students a chance to meet and talk with university staff and
scholars who have made science their career. |
