An outline of proposed research directions and the desirable Network configurations, infrastructure and facilities to support research in analytical spectrometry

Some of the proposed research directions have been covered on a previous page. Some further ideas can be proposed for the network configuration. One significant point is that ARNAS should work with the Analytical Division of the RACI to organise workshops/conferences, or to attract prominent overseas analytical scientists to visit Australia.

Spectrometry is highly dependent on expensive and sophisticated infrastructure. Some support for this already exists through the ARC and the Universities, but more is needed. The Australian Synchrotron will be an important piece of infrastructure in our work.
